Cumberland Furnace, TN

Last week was National Architecture Week, as deemed by the AIA, and I actually got to get out and enjoy a bit of the local, historical architecture around Middle Tennessee.  I visited Downtown Architectural District of Clarksville, Tennessee and was very impressed!  I hadn't been to Clarksville since I was in...High School?  And I had never seen the cute downtown blocks.

I also visited one of my favorite little communities, Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee.  I married my love in Cumberland Furnace, so it's a pretty special little place to me.

Tornado Alley, Tennessee

Two weeks ago a crazy storm system hit the Southeast.  I was on the phone with Ethan, and found myself wondering why the sky went dark, then running for the basement as branches started to fly and the windows & doors started to rattle.  It was a little intense.  I have not been in TN during "tornado season" in...years.  I had forgotten the power of Mother Nature in these parts!  Apparently a tornado just skipped down my parent's street!

I am starting to get the hint, Mother Nature.  (Tsunami's hit Hawaii when we are there, Tornadoes hit Tennessee when I am here...)
